Introduction
On December 13, 2019, Prof. Kadkhodaei and Ali presented a workshop on "heat treatment of metals" at the Futures Unlimited event held at Oakton Community college, Des Plaines Campus. In this workshop, eighth-grade girls and gender expansive students conducted a simple experiment on heat treating of metals (source at http://matse1.mse.uiuc.edu/metals/e.html) and became familiar with exciting opportunities and diverse careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
